What is The Cherie Quinn Project?

A mixed raced woman, wearing a navy and white striped thin jumper. Holding a bouquet of flowers of pink and orange. The flowers obscuring her face, so you can not see any of her features.

I guess I should start with, who is Cherie Quinn?..

My gut reaction would be, ‘good question’. My actual reaction would be Me… kind of.

I am Cherie Quinn, Officially I am Cherie {Lewis}-Quinn. I double barreled my surname when I got married 9 years ago.

I think I did it for a few different reasons which I am sure in time will come up. However this is not that time.

I am 33 years old. I have four children, all boys. I have been a Mother for eleven years. In those years I {Cherie} have become smaller and smaller.

Whereas my role as a Mother has become bigger and bigger, which I think is a common narrative of Motherhood. Even more so, when you have children with additional needs.

I now find myself in the position of not knowing who I am, or what I want {separate from my children}. I am now referring to myself as Cherie Quinn, as I feel I want and need a fresh start and finally stepping into my identity as Cherie Quinn feels right.

To put it simply The Cherie Quinn Project is me trying to rediscover myself and actively trying to create the happiest life for myself {and my family}.

I want to use this space to explore all the different parts of myself and to celebrate the fact I am a multifaceted woman. I want to document the highs and lows, the realisations and the truths as I find out about myself. I encourage you to do the same.

all the love, Cherie
